When two patterns are displaced, rotated, or have slightly different pitch they create a visual phenomenon called the Moiré effect . When Hallgeir Homstvedt wanted to interpet Oslo’s main athletics track Bislett he used the Moirè effect in combination with the graphical elements found at the historical Oslo Stadium to design the Bislett Series.
